Why should you buy your next home in Eden Prairie Minnesota? Well, you could look at the the same information that I used when I decided to buy a home in Eden Prairie for myself. If you gave this community the same amount of careful consideration that I did, you just might end up living here too!
Of course, most REALTORS see thousands of homes throughout the Minneapolis area, and are privy to an unlimited amount of data about appreciation, neighborhood sales histories, and every kind of statistic. Consequently, they may think that they have some advantages in making a decision about purchasing Eden Prairie real estate. It did not take a great deal of analysis to see that Eden Prairie boasts one of the most durable and promising housing markets in the entire Twin Cities.
Academic Excellence
You do not need to be any kind of Eden Prairie real estate agent, statistician, or rocket scientist to come to arrive at the same conclusions that I did. You just need to know what kind of community you want for raising a family. You only need to be able to recognize a city that prides itself in its quality of life. Certainly, an award-winning school system is an indicator of that pride. As a real estate agent, I can tell you from experience that out-of-state buyers are well aware of the Eden Prairie school system’s reputation for excellence. Frequently, buyers will make their decision buy Eden Prairie real estate solely on the basis of what they know about the local schools. Eden Prairie students traditionally score well above the state and national average on the SAT and ACT exams, and nearly 95% of our high school graduates go on to attend a 2- or 4-year college. Even if you don’t have any kids, a good school district is important; the quality public education system is a strong re-sale factor, and will support the market value of your Eden Prairie home.

Eden Prairie Sets the Standard
Our city has received national attention for its high quality lifestyle. Recognized by Money Magazine as the sixth best suburb to live in in the midwest, our city is a community that knows how to provide a vibrant economy while carefully preserving the natural beauty and maintaining a park system that is second-to-none. Retail, industry, and about 2,200 business prosper within a picturesque landscape that is dotted with lakes and characterized by large open areas and plenty of trees. This city is a bastion of economic strength, and is the largest employment destination in the state. The Eden Prairie real estate market attracts both long-term residents and corporate transients alike. Numerous Fortune 500 companies headquarter here. Major employers here include the Minnesota Vikings “Winter Park” training facility, Hennepin Technical College, an airport, and a large shopping mall. If you purchase a home in Eden Prairie, you don’t have to go very far for recreation, and you probably won’t have a long commute to work, either. The Eden Prairie real estate market is popular in part because of the fact that it is surrounded and transected by major routes that are designed to move traffic and facilitate commerce.
Finding Eden Prairie Homes
Almost everyone knows about Bearpath, the gated community that boasts its own golf course and some of the finest luxury Eden Prairie homes. There are other luxury neighborhoods here too, notably Williams Place, Settler’s Ridge, and the river bluffs community of Bell Oaks Estates. You might also be interested in executive Eden Prairie homes in Boulder point, or homes on Mitchell Lake or Red Rock Lake. Perhaps a multi-acre, multi-million dollar estate on Bryant Lake would be just right for you. At any given time, there are usually a handful of upscale lakeshore Eden Prairie homes awaiting your discovery. There are also other upper bracket properties adjacent to Olympic Hills along Mount Curve Road. If you want Eden Prairie real estate with panoramic views of the Minnesota River, you will probably want to check out Vogel Farm Road.
Are you looking at something more affordable? No problem. There is a good assortment of split entries, split level styles, ramblers, and two stories that were built in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. It is not hard to find good midrange single family Eden Prairie homes. In addition, all of those expensive neighborhoods we were just talking about help to pay the real estate taxes needed to keep the top-notch school system running.

Townhomes
Eden Prairie townhomes and condos offer even more affordable housing opportunities. The associations for Eden Prairie townhouse communities are meticulously maintained, and fees are low. Most of them are conveniently located near schools, shopping, parks, and major routes. There are a number of newer condos that are currently available, including choice units along Technology Drive. Notable quality townhome builders here include Centex, Pulte, and Rottlund.
New Eden Prairie Homes
The selection of brand-new Eden Prairie homes is limited, but opens up a bit in the higher price brackets. This is because Eden Prairie is a fully-developed community, and vacant land is scarce and expensive. However, there is some good news for Eden Prairie home owners in all of this; when it is time to sell your home, you won’t be competing with much brand new construction. Throughout the city’s history, the new home construction business here has been dominated by award winning builders like Charles Cudd, Wooddale, or Lecy.
